We are grateful and thankful for the many ways Holy Apostles’ Parishioners work
together and respond to the needs of others. As we serve others we serve Christ.

ADOPT-A-FAMILY (November / December)

Each year, Holy Apostles adopts one family in the Upper Freehold School District. As a parish we truly live out the Gospel message as we brought unexpected joy and generosity to many people at Christmas time.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUPPLIES (July / mid-August)

Each summer, we oversee the in-gathering of Back-to-School Supplies. Back packs and other various school supplies needed to begin the school year are collected and delivered to the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) for distribution to the students they serve in the area.

COLD WEATHER CLOTHER COLLECTION (January)

During the winter, we collect a variety of new and/or gently used warm clothing items for women, men, teens and children. All donations are given to the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) for distribution to the guests they serve in Trenton.

LENTEN OUTREACH (Lenten Season)

During the Lenten season, this ministry collects new socks of all sizes for adults and children. These items are available to our Gleanings guests, as well as donations are given to the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) for distribution to the guests they serve in the area.

POOR BOX MINISTRY (Ongoing)

PURL & PRAY (Ongoing)

Purl & Pray is a ministry of volunteers who knit and/or crochet, and for individuals who may like to learn how to knit or crochet. A basket in the narthex contains directions for a variety of knit and crochet outreach projects. Most of the patterns are easy, not time consuming, and are completed at your leisure. The handmade items are blessed and distributed to various people in need of these items.

THANKSGIVING FOOD BASKETS (November)

Each year, Holy Apostles’ support Trinity Cathedral’s Thanksgiving Food Baskets ministry. We’ve donated trunk loads of non-perishable food items to those in need of food during the Thanksgiving season.

WICKER BASKET (Ongoing)

The in-gathering of food in support of the Allentown Food Pantry is a year-round ministry of the parish. Non-perishable food items are collected in the Wicker Basket near the main altar. Perishable food items may be placed in the refrigerator or in the freezer. There are many people in our neighboring communities who face food insecurity on a regular basis. Parishioners faithfully deliver our donations every week to the Allentown Presbyterian Church on High Street where the food is distributed.

WOMANSPACE (Ongoing)

Womanspace is a leading not-for-profit agency providing a comprehensive array of services to women and their families impacted by domestic and sexual violence. They offer 24-hour, 7 days-a-week, emergency crisis services as well as ongoing long-term assistance. Throughout the year we collect cell phones and wall chargers. Once the cell phones are serviced and programmed to reach 911, they are distributed to women at risk. We gather in-kind donations during May and Advent. Our donations of new in-kind items included: clothing, household items, personal care items, toys, gifts cards, handmade scarves, and two cell phones.
